I like to use the Input Viewer to verify my button selections because I use modifiers to expand the number of buttons on my virtual joysticks. The problem is that half of Input Viewer is always taken up by the selection boxes to determine what inputs to show which seems like a very large waste of space. If possible, those selections should only take up as much space as they need to which would provide more horizontal space for the actual input displays.
What also isn't as visible in the following image is that the button box doesn't scale horizontally either, it is always 10 buttons wide. While I know the number of buttons I have in my vJoy devices may seem excessive it seems like it would be required for sim pits and similar to have a large number of buttons to have as much you can physically control as possible. Being able to display as many inputs on the screen without having to vertically scroll through them would be a big benefit.

One additional enhancement would be to add an icon for the input viewer on the top bar, I use the input viewer all the time so this would be convenient.
