In the extension menu, click uBlock Origin, then sprocket, then manage extension shortcuts, a red banner appears when I set a key-combination informing me I cannot override a mullvad extension. It won't save option-command-K for 'logger'. It then shows instead option-command-4. But clears the field. Returning to manage extension shortcuts a second time NOT-picking keys the option-command-4 persists. Is this the default on MacOS? It had previously been blank. The third time returning to manage extension shortcuts NOT-picking keys the shortcut is now shift-command-K. This is unusual

This is MacOS 14.6.1

I am unable to screenshot the error because the keys to invoke screenshot also clear the error.

see arkenfox/user.js#703

  • this is due to RFP (privacy.resistFingerprinting) which is locked true on MB release
  • RFP shouldn't affect extensions, but that's a bit handy wavy since I'm not sure what context that UI is, and not all RFP paths are the same in code

edit: OK this is not uBO's page, it's Firefox's. It should be exempt IIUIC - I'll do some quick testing and open an issue upstream at mozilla/MB

@hackademix any ideas? debugging?

ok, I don't have an issue with MB on windows - I can add an valid combo with ctrl, shift, and alt - so I don't think this is an RFP issue

You'll just need to pick a valid combo AFAICT (my test mac machine doesn't have a command key, cuz I swapped out the tiny wee dainty girly butterfly keyboard for a big fingered hunky beefcake man keyboard and haven't bothered to map anything)

Someone else will have to reply about using the command key
