Wiley has a new link to the PDF version. E.g. this article is available at the following location:

/doi/pdfdirect/10.1111/cgf.14443

rather than

/doi/pdf/10.1111/cgf.14443 (a HTML page which contains yet more trackers)

@fkohrt I just checked the article. The article you shared is not open-access, therefore, the extension takes me to purchase page. But when I tried a different article in the same journal that is open access, here it is, the extension worked fine.

If you have access to that not-open-access article, going to /pdfdirect/ instead of /pdf/ loads up the pdf file for you, is that so? Can you kindly confirm?

Yeah, good idea to take an open access article as example.

Yes, the extensions takes me from

/doi/10.1111/cgf.14986

to

/doi/pdf/10.1111/cgf.14986

But my point is that this is not a PDF file, but only a HTML file that embeds the PDF file, which is actually located at

/doi/pdfdirect/10.1111/cgf.14986
