Environment

  • Nautobot version: 2.x
  • nautobot-plugin-device-lifecycle-mgmt version: 2.x

Proposed Functionality

A Job to automatically:

  1. Discover device OS Versions
  2. get_or_create discovered OS Versions (SoftwareLCM)
  3. Build relationships between Device and SoftwareLCM

Use Case

As the user, I would like to run a job that auto-populates the Device <-> SoftwareLCM relationships at scale so I can:

  1. Easily populate software data in my environment, giving me quick access to usable software validation reports
  2. Programmatically update software versions and Device <> SoftwareLCM relationships after device software upgrades
