The project is actively maintained and the developers are responsive to inquiries.

The tasks here are somewhat involved. Maintainers insist on a configurable package (as the project is intended to be usable in a modular fashion), automatic version bumps (as each component has 2-5 releases per year), and otherwise following packaging instructions in doc/developer/packaging/ for each subproject, as otherwise the utility of downstream packages to users would go down significantly.
