The BBC have a vision to move to Continuous Delivery for all their web based products. In order to facilitate this, in Knowledge and Learning we are moving from a predominantly PHP front end / Java service backend sites to AWS with front end and micro services built using Node.js.

I would like to describe the journey that we have taken in order to build the responsive refresh of bbc.co.uk/food from 6 year old php code to node with the remit that the customer should hardly be aware that anything has changed.
