The emulator is great, especially your expanded fork, I see you're improving it a lot these days, the interface is very clean and fluid and it is very cool having more cores.
I like its lightweight UI but also being reminiscent on the graphical aspect to the best era of homebrew, back in the years of the PSP and Wii. It's a great alternative to Retroarch without a doubt.

One thing that I think Emu4Vita lacks is being able to show the game titles instead of the file names, with the matching of database files, as can be done in Retroarch and others like pEMU ( https://github.com/Cpasjuste/pemu )

An example:
Street Fighter II: The World Warrior (USA)
Instead of:
sf2uf.zip

I think it's much nicer to be able to browse the list that way.

On the other hand, I think it would be nice to have another grid view option for emulator selection that takes up two or more rows, or fills the screen with all the icons (which are really nice), like can be done in cy33hc's versatile Vita Launcher ( https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-vita-launcher-app-to-launch-games-and-apps.574644/page-17 ) or the new 2D views of the HexFlow Custom launcher ( https://github.com/BlackSheepBoy69/HexFlow-Launcher-Unofficial-Custom )

Thanks in advance, and for all the work done!

Maybe in the future I will support list files from other frontends.

I don't like the grid view styles, it's beautiful, but inefficiency.
It show fewer games on one screen, not convenient to find the game I want to play.

Thank you for your attention.

Well it would be nice having the game titles even if it was just for arcade games, since the rom filenames are very ugly and confusing.

Regarding my request for grid view, I was referring only to the main screen/arch where you choose between systems.
I agree that a list is more efficient for games, a grid for browsing games would be nice maybe for a small list on a "Very favorites" section as start page like Vita Launcher has, but since for system/cores there are not that many options, by using even three or two rows, everything could be displayed on a single screen or two pages perhaps.
It also allows you to jump from one to another that is not the next one, something that cannot be done in a single row, for example: we could go from Arcade, directly to SNES, by moving to the bottom row.

Thank you for being attentive.

That's a good idea for main screen.

Here are two examples of the main system selection view in Vita Launcher, as you can see it is clean and easy to navigate by skipping steps. Two and three rows.

Also a sample of how the "Favorites" list can be viewed (it gives you thumbnail image aspect ratio options, and for each system category you can choose whether to show cover/artwork or a snapshot of ingame/titlescreen)

As you can see this launcher allows an option to navigate between each system from parent tabs, which makes it very comfortable, I think it is something worth imitating for other frontends.

Hi, I just saw that you added this feature and others in the new release. I'll try it out as soon as I can, thanks a lot!

It's been a while, thank you very much for complying with the request and all the other improvements you're adding (and also especially the individual versions for not-so-common system cores like DOSbox and the file manager! Bravo!!)

I don't want to be a beggar, but 1) could you somehow make the game title show up by default in the list (and Favorites list) instead of the filenames for these roms?

Maybe by using some button to toggle filename and title, or maybe both could be shown side by side in the list like this:
Street Fighter II: The World Warrior (USA) - sf2uf.zip

I understand that for this you'd have to decide on a factor to sort alphabetically by, so maybe that's why a button or option to toggle which one to show in the list would be nice.

  1. On the other hand, could it be made to speed up navigation between list items? I know you put the jump between a bunch of items, but when you have many roms and you want to navigate between them all it's tedious to go through.
Maybe you can enable a "fast" mode using the stick or a progressive acceleration by holding the Dpad button.

  2. Also, it would be nice to be able to add a game to Favorites without having to close it.
I believe the logical thing would be placing this option on the first in game tab menu (the "system" one) and maybe in the Favorites tab itself too (to check if that game is already saved there)

  3. Finally, could you make the search function to look for words in game titles for arcade roms like in RetroArch? Looking at those abbreviated weird filenames makes the search function useless for now.

Thanks in advance and for all done!
