Drivers

Generally speaking, getting ASIC hardware properly recognized on Windows or Mac OS X will require the proper OS drivers. Depending on the device and the Operating System, you may or may not need to download and install additional drivers.

You should refer to the documentation that came with your ASIC to determine which driver to install. However, we have provided a list of devices and drivers below for simplicity.

Silicon Labs USB to UART Driver

Required for Windows & Mac OS X

Download the driver from Silicon Labs

  • R-Box
  • ZeusMiner
  • AntMiner USB
  • Block Erupter

FTDI Virtual COM Port Driver

Required for Windows & Mac OS X

Download the driver from FTDI Ltd

  • DualMiner
  • BFL ASICs

OS / Custom CDC Driver

Required for Windows

For Linux, Mac OS X and Windows, the USB CDC (communications device class) driver built into the OS will be used for the ASIC.

However, on Windows an .INF file tailored for the device must be used in order to install the OS CDC driver. In addition, these .INF files are unsigned, which means you'll need to take additional steps on newer releases of Windows to install the .INF file.

  • LittleFury
  • TwinFury
  • Bi Fury

Zadig USB Installer

Required for Windows

For Linux, Mac OS X and Windows, the LibUSB / WinUSB driver will be used for the ASIC.

However, on Windows a utility must be used to associate the driver with the USB device.

  • HashBuster Micro

OS USB / HID Driver

For these devices there is no additional driver to install. The OS USB HID (human interface device - e.g. mouse) driver will be used.
