NOTES:
1) The WriteDataContainer lock is acquired here from within the
DataWriterImpl and not the call to the DataWriterContainer itself.
Presumably this is to allow this lock to be held while the list of
data to resend is passed through the transport layers.
2) This is a recursive call to acquire/release this lock in this
scenario. Since the possibility of other threads calling into this
method *without* already holding the lock must be allowed for, there
may not be a simple mechanism to avoid this. Unless we decouple
processing even more and hand off to another thread before we reach
this spot. Like maybe having the reenqueue_all() processing on its
own thread.
3) There are two distinct DataLinkSet objects for which the lock_
object in each is acquired and released in tandem.
4) There is probably as much time spent on condition checking and
enqeueing here as there would be just making the calls. There are
some locks used during the processing that could as well be
replaced with AtomicOps.
5) Send processing occurs at this point. Revisit if necessary.
6) Here we could call back to application code while holding the
TransportImpl::lock_
7) In this case there is no associated link on which to send the
historical data, so the data is released by calling data_delivered.

NOTES:
8) This then is the same sequence as above. These will not conflict
since one and only one thread will be allowed to hold the
TransportImpl::lock_ at the same time.
9) This is implemented by the specific type of transport instantiated
for this Transport. Here I assume SimpleTcp.
10) At least this use of the send_strategy_lock_ with the
TransportSendStrategy::lock_ is redundant. Only one of these is
required.
11) It may be worth investigating whether both of these locks are
necessary or if a single lock could protect both containers.
12) This is a simplification of the connect/reconnect call stack, but I
believe that it accurately represents the lock usage.

accepted for this datalink. It also releases the inner,
SimpleTcpTransport::connections_lock_, during the waiting period, but
*retains* the outter, TransportImpl::reservation_lock_ during the
waiting period.

NOTES:
18) Interestingly, the lock protecting the subscribers reader map is
not acquired during insertion. This is likely to be a latent fault
and should be corrected.
19) On slightly further investigation, there are no locks anywhere in the
DataReaderImpl that are protecting the internal storage either.
There are at least 2 std::map<> and 1 std::set<> containers that
should be so protected.

NOTES:
20) This is actually an idiom to release the pi_lock_ for a time. This
is not scoped, so this essentially releases the lock. We need to
determine whether to scope this shorter (reacquire the pi_lock_) or
to just end the scope of holding the pi_lock_ at this point.
21) Persistence processing occurs at this point. Revisit if necessary.
22) This removes elements from the instances_ container while *NOT*
holding any locks.
23) This is an additional scenario for recursion similar to that in
NOTE(2).
24) This is the lock from a different object than the first one. These
pairs of locks are always from two different sets.
