I'm unable to get tke Kobo (Glo) to recognize the usb keyboard. I've got a splitter powered by the mains adapter (also tried with a powerbank), and a bunch of regular, functioning usb keyboards.

The keyboard lights up if I plug the splitter in the kobo last, but I can't get Kobowriter to start.

Any idea?

Hey ! I also have a Glo, and initially I started my project on it. However, as you discovered, even when you activate the kernel with otg, and even if you can see your keyboard with lsusb, it's not picked up as an input device (no event on /dev/input).

I feel it is something that could be worked out, but as I had a Glo HD laying around as well, I went for this. But I'll be glad to make it work on the simple Glo. (If you find a way we'll also have to update the code because the font size is optimized for higher definition screens).

Note that XCsoar says they support the Kobo mini and touch and others but nothing on the Glo, and you have a warning when activating the OTG kernel.

Ah thanks for the answer! I also have a Clara but I'm a bit more reluctant to change the firmware - do you know if the XCSoar is reversible?

Hello, I'll just plug myself in here... I just ordered a Kobo Glo (without HD) and unfortunately I read a little bit too late that the keyboard is not supported on this Kobo model. I'm unfortunately not a tech guy at all and have to rely a bit on complete builds, so the question: is it still an issue that the support for the Glo will be implemented – and if I may wish for something else: German keyboard layout ;) or should I rather get another Glo HD from somewhere? I think the project is awesome, being able to write distraction-free on an e-Ink display is a big dream! Many greetings and thanks!

hi olup, thanks for your quick reply. and yes, i think i’ll have a look what other android driven e ink tablets could be an option for writing. the inkbook devices look quite promising for a relatively low price. and i think i would sell my kobo glo then again... thanks again and all the best with your project!
