The International Canoe Federation has a number of training guidelines for senior athletes who compete in sprint kayaking discipline.
The guide contains information on how an athlete would structure their training program by specifying what the anaerobic/aerobic training ratio and training load should be at a particular time of the year. The information is shown in the graph below.
Using the 7 zone power training guide outlined in the Control Training Intensities section:
- Aerobic Training: Zone 1 – Zone 3
- Anaerobic Training: Zone 4 – Zone 7
