Read Access Approvement Process

This page documents the process of granting read access to a member of the openETCS consortium. This is only necessary for repositories, which are not yet public.

Proposal

The member contacts the project office to get read access to a certain repository, including:

• Your full name
• Your affiliation
• If you are unknown to the project: the responsible person for openETCS within your organization
• Your GitHub Account name
• The name of the project you want to get read access to

Approvement

The project office checks if the person requesting read access is a partner within openETCS. If necessary, it gets approvement and confirmation from the responsible person of the member company. The project office reviews the gitHub account of the committer, the account should contain the full name and the affiliation.

Infrastructure

The project office:

• Checks if the committer has joined the project's mailing list and adds him/her otherwise
• The project office adds the GitHub account into the group, which has read-access to the respective repository.
• The project office notifies the member about the approvement
