can you elaborate on what this issue is about ? just one single line does not give much details. Please answer what is this about ? and why do you think it is needed ?

Is RF redfish? What event are you expecting?

Oh BIOS password? How is the BMC even supposed to be notified? The BIOS would need to generate a log event if some kind.

This requirement is about adding Redfish Event Logs when BIOS Password is changed

From BMC, we can change BIOS password remotely.
When user changes the password, redfish event can be logged in indication of the same.

Please point out the message or event in a registry you are expecting to be generated.

I missed your response to this question.

Again I don't expect to log all changes to the BIOS settings, including (for example) if the BIOS password was changed via a BIOS menu using the remote KVM. To me such a requirement should be met by having the BIOS create an event log.

This is a request for a feature not a bug unless you can point to specific text in the redfish specification or similar standard requiring such an event. This is an open source project and you are welcome to make and submit changes CONTRIBUTING. However we request issues be restricted to bugs, using our mailing list or discord Contact for questions and other requests that are not security sensitive SECURITY.

This is a feature request. None of our repositories just start doing work because someone opened an issue. If you want this feature added, you'll need to contribute the work.

@williamspatrick williamspatrick closed this as not planned Won't fix, can't repro, duplicate, stale Feb 12, 2025
