[Office Hours] Is there a way to see views without preview?

I was wondering if there is a way to see views or test part of the app without previews and/or the simulator. Even though there are no errors the previews never load for me even after waiting like 45+ min (and eventually I get this error) and the simulator similarly takes ~10 min to boot up and run when I want to see changes that I make. I'm assuming this is because my computer is a bit old (2020 Macbook Pro), but it's making my workflow pretty inefficient so I just wanted to check if there there was anything I could do to speed things up!

Hi @Priyankas007,

Sorry to hear that you are having trouble. There are some things you can try to make Xcode & the iOS simulator load a bit faster:

1. Close any other apps running at the same time that could be using a lot of memory (e.g. Chrome or Slack)
2. Try using a different iPhone simulator that might be more lightweight.
3. Run your app directly on a physical iPhone instead of the simulator.

@vishnuravi Good ideas, there are not a lot of other alternatives. Sometimes restarting Xcode fixes some issues around previews. Running the all in your phone or even using your phone to display the previews might be your best idea 👍
