At the beginning of the year in discussion with a couple of Proxeus users, it emerged that one of our main barriers to adoption is that it remains difficult to evaluate the platform on your own server. For web engineers, getting a Docker instance up and running is straightforward, but if you don't have the experience, and are confronted with a blinking terminal shell prompt, trying to follow the installation instructions can be daunting. We confirmed this while trying to support a couple of advanced users.
For some people getting Proxeus to run on a local machine (with, say, Docker's desktop UI for Windows or Mac) is feasible, in some ways even easier than a remote server. There are various good reasons for making it easier to set up a small-scale, single-container and reasonably secure quick installation. We had the idea of a one-click installer for a while, and being comfortable with Linode's tools, my first result is the StackScript documented in PR #205.

We are putting together some more goalposts for this project in a discussion, and are open to ideas for other platforms or deployment tools. What do you think of this idea, and which cloud marketplaces would you like to see supported?
