Pending session requests are still pending after accepting/denying them

I'm using getPendingSessionRequests() to retrieve all pending messages for when someone opens up a tab using wallet connect, they can see all past requests and accept/deny them. The main reason for this is when someone clicks to sign a message, a new tab is opened and the message is found from the pending requests list but after accepting/denying the request and refreshing the page, the message is still included in the pending requests list.
