Have you tried putting the players in a universal group? https://www.music-assistant.io/faq/groups/#universal-groups |

I played with some sort of group at some point but I'm not sure if it was that one. I'll give universal groups a go, thanks for the tip. |

Not sure what sort of group I had played with before or if I just missed the "Dynamic group members" option of the universal group, but it looks like universal group with dynamic membership meets my needs nicely. Thanks for the pointer |

We have a battery powered Chromecast portable speaker (from JBL) in the kitchen which is only powered on when it is being used.
Sometimes I would like to continue listening to the album I had on earlier in the kitchen in another room (on another player) -- so I'd like to grab the queue from the speaker in the kitchen and carry on -- but it is turned off so it doesn't appear in the list of players. It is not even in the list unpowered players because it is fully offline at this point. AIUI the "unpowered" means in practice that the "device exists on the network but is not running the music-assistant app" (at least for chromecast, maybe for other players it is different)
Right now I have to go into the kitchen and turn on the device long enough to send its queue to where I want it.
Some ideas, but they all seem to hinge ultimately on the ability to interact in some limited ways with a player that isn't currently available:
I personally think 2 would be quite nice, since the focus of my attention at this point is on the destination player not the source.
I think the queue isn't literally stored on the player device, if it is then all of the above are complete non-starters.
