Long Term Support (LTS) Releases

On the roadmap for supportability and stability of Nautobot as SoT and automation platform comes the discussion of how long any given release is supported.

Currently only the active major.minor releases get patched proactively, with patches going back to previous releases being few and far between.

This discussion thread will be a way to centralize the discussion around creating LTS releases of Nautobot.

Things that would be useful to know to help us define when and how we support Nautobot releases and establish an LTS cycle are:

• Beyond data-loss bugs, CVEe, etc., are there other types of fixes you would expect to see in an LTS release support window?
• What have been the experience of upgrade cycles in an organization, both patch and minor releases so far?
• What types of fixes would you expect to not have come in as a patch of an LTS release (obviously breaking changes but no desire for UX bug fixes that would change user workflows potentially but no actual functional loss)?
