Alternatives to Hashicorp's Vault?

OpenTofu is great! I just wanted to know if the OpenTofu community plans on forking Vault or knew of any FOSS alternatives, as Vault is integral to a LOT of things, with MinIO tenants on Kubernetes as an example if you're not using a major cloud provider. Infisical looks good, but doesn't have any way to create an initial user, so I can't use that for automation tasks, as in my work, I need to provision entire clusters from scratch.

Does this community have any suggestions for FOSS solutions?

I recon the best answer can be found in the OpenTofu manifesto:

Our goal: ensure Terraform remains truly open source—always.

In other words, AFAIK there are no plans beyond development of tofu and its ecosystem. Please find more details in FAQs.
