Just wrote my first pixel-level, sprite collision detection algorithm for a space invader clone. As a rank amateur... it was a bit challenging. I sort of remember that the C64 VIC-II had hardware sprite collision detection (with some issues, as I recall). Would it make sense to have the RP6502 VGA provide pixel-level or even bounding box-based (macro) collision detection?
