Best starting kit (and cheap)

Hi, as local linux user group I saw that project at Fosdem and I was wondering how much is expensive.

Looking at the website various projects refers to stuff that is not avalaible anymore online (like the droid commander).
So my quesiton what is the most cheap kit we can find with an already projects avalaible? In this way we can do some thinking how many buy it to do some programming evangelism.

On internet is not easy to find something based on those keywords and to get a list of all the kits in the pybricks website means open every single page and search one by one.
Just to discover that various are retired.

Do you suggest a specific kit that is avalaible and the most cheap around?

Apparently most of the affordable sets are being discontinued, so there aren't many options for new sets. If you can find a good deal for 45678 or 51515 (second hand) that could be good starting point.

in case what is the best kit with just the electronic stuff, motors sensor etc?

If you want just the electronic stuff, the best way to get that is buying individual lots on Bricklink. There isn't an official kit that is just the electronics and buying the individual parts from LEGO directly is much more expensive.
