Currently at the top of the news page, there is this huge carousel wasting so much space.

The space should be used more efficient.

You can now remove the news carousel by not putting any news.
In case you don't want to ditch any existing news, you can simply uncheck the "[x] Frontpage" option via the DJANGO admin page.
