Implementation wise on player side the sounds work well. It is a bit jarring as a GM to change a door state on an inactive scene and players can hear it.
Basically just a checkbox inside the settings to disable all sounds, or just enable sounds for active scene.
Ideally it is a drop down field to give options such as:
Anywhere
On active scene
Never (GM & Players)
Never (GM)

I don't like the sounds at all. Maybe only when players interact with doors. Especially when you have doors synchronizing and it all triggers the sound together, its super jarring.
