When weighting the age-composition data from each fleet, each year is scaled by the mean weight-at-age in the weight-at-age file from the model specific to Fleet == 1. The data in the weight-at-age file is not raw but rather represents the mean for that year across all information. Not sure if we should be scaling by fleet-specific information.

To do

  • read previous assessment documents that detail how the age-composition data are weighted
  • look back at Alan's spreadsheets that worked up the composition data to see if raw weight-at-age were being used and I misinterpreted what was being done when I translated it to code
  • write a check or way to ensure that the newest information is being used rather than the average of the last five years ... this is an order of operations thing wrt what data is worked up first
