There are multiple use cases where a global/external configuration might come in handy:

  • Onboarding a group of packages and maintaining the config in one place.
  • Sharing a setup across a package ecosystem (related to Plugins or ecosystem actions packit#2424 )
  • Fedora CI and downstream automation in general where a configuration is (usually) not needed at all and config is used just as an enabler.

TODO:

  • Let's take a look at how we can do this, write down your findings and gather feedback from the team and community.
  • Plan and estimate the work.
