Warlords battlecry 3

  • Tested with Wine 1.5.20
  • Install path Program Files/GOG.com/Warlords Battlecry 3/
  • Shortcuts:
    • Readme ["Readme.txt" ]
    • Manual ["Manual.pdf" ]
    • Warlords Battlecry 3 ["Battlecry III.exe" ]
  • Terrible sound quality (in menus at least), lots of high harmonics (low quality resampling?)
    • Does not happen with 1.4.1, looks like a regression
  • Page fault on read when quitting game
    • suggested chmod -R 777 ~/Warlords\ Battlecry\ III makes no difference
    • switching to win98 compatibility doesn't help
    • installing directplay package (or equivalent manual procedure described in the AppDB) doesn't help either
  • Sometimes game starts minimized, or when game ends you get back to a minimized launcher
  • Exiting a game (Alt-Q) ends in a game crash
