The CAAL plots suggest that in the early years of the WCGBTS the residuals of the biggest fish were generally “young” and in the more recent years the pattern of observed and predicted were more consistent. This could be due to changes in growth and/or size (or age) based selectivity/availability changes and should be investigated.
