How to get the 65C22 to work?

Hello!

After a bit of tinkering i came around the GPIO on the 65C22

First i tried writing directly to the registers via the monitor. But nothing happens. Reading back returns all zeros.

even inside a c program i cant interact with the 65c22. i see the led on PORTA 0 flashing but it seems that all the registers are instantly set to zero.

Has someone already used the 65C22?

Edit:
Nevermind....
the monitor can't acces the 6522 because it is held in reset. Just like the 6502.
And if the c program ends... Same thing...
