Steps to reproduce the issue :

  • Have a clean lastet installed GPLI (10.0.7)
  • Latest generic Object plugin (2.14.13)
  • Inventory numbers generation plugin (release 2.8.3)
  1. Create a new object "test" in "Object Management" and enable "Use geninventorynumber plugin"
  2. Go to Tools > Inventory Number Generation
  3. In General Setup, check if the plugin is active (default)
  4. In GLPI's inventory items configuration, next to "test" object, switch "Active" to "Yes" and save
  5. In Assets > test, add a new object and save it.
  6. Check the newly created object => the inventory number is empty

Workaround :

  • Remove /glpi/plugins/geninventorynumber folder
  • Replace it by the 2.8.2 release
  • Follow steps 1 to 6 and an automated inventory number will be present as expected
  • Upgrade from 2.8.2 to 2.8.3 release => the plugin is still working as expected
