Create a new object "test" in "Object Management" and enable "Use geninventorynumber plugin"
Go to Tools > Inventory Number Generation
In General Setup, check if the plugin is active (default)
In GLPI's inventory items configuration, next to "test" object, switch "Active" to "Yes" and save
In Assets > test, add a new object and save it.
Check the newly created object => the inventory number is empty
Workaround :
Remove /glpi/plugins/geninventorynumber folder
Replace it by the 2.8.2 release
Follow steps 1 to 6 and an automated inventory number will be present as expected
Upgrade from 2.8.2 to 2.8.3 release => the plugin is still working as expected
