So, I feel like I'm missing something obvious, but so far none of my searches have found anything that explains what "edge compute" even means, in the context of Docker and Portainer.

Can someone explain it to me? And maybe add a paragraph to the main Edge Compute docs just in case anyone else is as lost as I am?

Does it have something to do with keeping content/tools close to users like in this wikipedia article?
