I am unfamiliar with programming

Not a problem! Since the project has such a long history, many things are not correctly documented. You can go through the "What Works?" page linked above and verify the status of different features by playing. If you find broken features, wacky balance issues, crashes etc., it is very helpful for you to create GitHub Issues for them so we can keep track and eventually fix them.

I have programmed with different languages

Off to a good start! Lua (our scripting language) is very easy to pick up, browse through our GitHub Issues and find anything "scripted incorrectly", "cutscene/cs dialogue is wrong", etc. If you find something you think is suitable, ask in Discord if is suitable for your knowledge level.

I am proficient in C++, SQL, and Lua

Great! If you know what you're doing then you can still dig through the GitHub Issues and find something you might be interested in.
