Error starting Protege on Mac with Java 9 #753
Comments
Update: I removed JDK 9 from the system and installed JDK 8u162. Now Protege works just fine. |
Thanks for the detailed report. This is very useful. |

When attempting to manually start the platform-independent version on Mac (the OS-specific version simply shows a terminal window for half a second before quitting) I got the error shown in log1.txt. Running MacOS Sierra 10.12.6 and with Java SDK 9 installed.
When searching for a solution I came across an issue from a few years back. I copied felix.jar (and renamed it properly) to the bin/ folder. Although it seems to get a bit further now, I still get an error as shown in
log2.txt.
Any help would be appreciated. A student (in a tutorial on ontology engineering) first encountered the issue and I was able to replicate it on my Mac.
