Hey, this is just the readme and preface. Click here to read the actual thing.
weirder.earth Rules and Etiquette by weirder.earth is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.
The original outline was made by Dzuk, but was improved upon and finalised with the help of many many contributions and conversations from the weirder.earth community.
The approach to this was inspired heavily by Mixer's and Waypoint's community guidelines. It was also derived from many of the old Etiquette and Rules weirder.earth had in the past and general personal experience with moderating online spaces.
If you feel that these rules (in part or in full) are good for your community and you want to use them, feel free to copy and adapt it, it's licensed Creative Commons BY-SA 4.0.

There are two parts of the text that explicitly use 'weirder.earth' that you will definitely want to change:
- The main title at the beginning.
- The first paragraph of the 'Conspiracy theories, pseudoscience and scams' section.
If your instance/community is not under American jurisdiction, you will probably want to change or remove the FOSTA/SESTA section.
Much of the Etiquette section (as well as the FOSTA/SESTA section) is specifically tailored to Mastodon. If you want to use these in a different kind of community, you will want to change these too.
