Bug Description
CRLF line endings cause issues with VSEARCH and all the plugins that use it (see examples below). q2-types should catch this at import. This problem may not be isolated to vsearch's interpretation of CRLF line endings in fasta files.

Steps to reproduce the behavior

  1. add CRLF line endings to your favorite fasta file
  2. see here
