Hey there everyone
As you may have noticed we are taking the Qv2 ecosystem shift as an opportunity to cleanup our repositories from unfinished or unmaintained AEs.
Here's the status of Testing AEs
Not up to dateDeprecatedUnfinished, not up to dateDeprecatedThe current working branch for Qv2-compatible releases is
next
Looking back at last year community survey, we prioritized Cypress and Jest maintenance over other AEs.
Unluckily, we currently don't have enough bandwidth to maintain AVA and Webdriver IO and migrate them to support Qv2, even if they both have nearly 10% of community "share"
The community survey also shown another need from the community: to be more involved into the project maintainance and development.
Following this request, we asked the community to step up with some UI App Extensions and you already helped migrating some of them to support Qv2 💪🏻
We are here once again to ask the community to step up: if you're an AVA or Webdriver IO user and you're able give back some of your time to the community which helped you in these years, please answer on this thread or get in touch with me on Discord directly 😃
Main tasks would be:
Of course we'll introduce you into the codebase and help you get going, you won't be left alone :)
If no one steps up from the community, we will deprecate official AVA and Webdriver IO AEs and won't migrate them to support Qv2. In this latter case we'd encurage and support anyone who would wish to release its community-driven testing AE
