promotion causes segfault/stack overflow #49

julia> using DataValues

julia> promote(nothing,DataValue{Any}())
Segmentation fault: 11

(see other examples on JuliaLang/julia#29639)

The segfault is obviously a Julia problem, but the discussion there suggests that it is a misspecified promotion that results in a stack overflow
