Is there a way to create a vignette with quarto?

Hi, I would like to use quarto for building a vignette if possible. Is that possible?

Part of my motivation for doing so is the native support of Mermaid and Graphviz.

No, not currently, because CRAN would need to have quarto installed.

Apologize for commenting on an old issue, but what would need to happen for CRAN to install quarto? Are there steps we can take to make this an option?

@rcannood we recommend opening new issues instead of posting on closed issues, to facilitate issue triage, thanks for your understanding (but your new issue could reference closed issues). Also relevant: #2210 (articles are not built on CRAN so there are less constraints 😸 ).
