Hi,

i'm on Debian Sid, and it seems that an update on libxmlrpc-core-c3t64 broke rtorrent, as also stated at this link:

https://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg680309.html

When i start rtorrent, it gives me this error:

rtorrent: error while loading shared libraries: libxmlrpc_util.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

libxmlrpc-core-c3t64 has been updated to 1.59.03-1+b1

doas apt install libxmlrpc-core-c3t64
libxmlrpc-core-c3t64 is already the newest version (1.59.03-1+b1).
libxmlrpc-core-c3t64 set to manually installed.

find / -type f -name 'libxmlrpc_util*'
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libxmlrpc_util.so.4.59

I know that a symbolic link could solve the issue, but i think rtorrent should be updated to the latest dependencies.
Thanks for your help!

Reporting it to the package maintainer is the correct move, the rTorrent repo doesn't have any control over how Debian chooses to build their packages.

Alright... I suppose i should wait and see. Meanwhile, i'm using transmission-daemon. Thanks!
