HotCertification distributes the function of a Certificate Authority amongst a group of peers/replicas/nodes. It consists of two main components:

  1. A byzantine fault-tolerant state machine replication algorithm (HotStuff)
  2. A threshold signing scheme that produces valid RSA signatures on X509 certificates
