Like Jordan mentioned in the issue referenced above, it seems the direct consumer queue is dropped and does not return until the neutron-plugin-openvswitch-agent is restarted. In Digi's environment, this is causing the following message to scroll in console logs during builds;
Waiting for RackSpace Nova automation to update /etc/hostname
Waiting for RackSpace Nova automation to update /etc/hostname
Waiting for RackSpace Nova automation to update /etc/hostname
Waiting for RackSpace Nova automation to update /etc/hostname
Jordan mentioned that we could possibly use a file monitor via Nimbus looking for 404s...
