I confirmed it wasn't an issue with Android; the bundle in Android is Hermes bytecode.

Note, profiling locally with Hermes bytecode and without it, using Hermes bytecode on an iPhone resulted in half the memory usage in my app, so this would patch a serious performance regression

Just found that Xcode defaults to 'Release' when running react-native run-ios under specific setups. Fix here: react-native-community/cli#1957. Would be great if we could get this into 0.71.
