What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. unable to download sample app from given URL
http://app-demo.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ app-demo-read-only

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
sample app download

You need to have/use an SVN client.  I just went through this a few minutes ago 
on OSX.. When you put the URL in, make sure you use 
http://app-demo.googlecode.com/svn -- don't bother putting the "/trunk" part 
after the svn -- seems to cause some SVN clients issues.. Once you do that 
you'll be fine!

You are very offensive and actually you are the one who doesn't know how to use 
SVN.
You should use "trunk" instead of /svn. The URL that was reported by "aliabuth" 
is the one that is suggested by code.google.com on the "Source" tab of this 
site (http://app-demo.googlecode.com/svn/trunk) and it doesn't work because 
you've put your code into the /svn instead of /svn/trunk.
