Citation chasing is the process of collating all records that cite or are referenced in a given set of articles of known relevance. This is a supplementary search method used to mop up articles missed by bibliographic searching. The process at present is hugely time consuming. citationchaser performs forward and backward citation chasing for you based on content in Lens.org and using their API. The package outputs results in RIS format for easy integration with other review/reference management tools. For example, allowing easy deduplication of citationchaser outputs against original search results to reduce the volume of records that need to be checked by hand (or allowing them to be fed back into the machine learning classifier algorithms).
