Hi! I'm Michael, and I'm a codaholic. More seriously, I'm pretty much an IT generalist, meaning that I actually have no clue what I'm doing (usually), but I'm good at googling 😏 Only quite recently did I get involved in using HA, and I'm a bit afraid that this rabbit hole is quite deep. One of the first (custom) integrations I bumped into was this one, and it's been tremendously useful, both because sending commands through HA (phone app mostly) is so much faster than using the We Connect app and because it allows for creating much more advanced charging schedules than is even possible otherwise. I have an e-Golf (2015) with the dumb schuko->Type2 cable only at home, so no EV charger that could be programmed. Thus this integration is a life saver 🦺 🚗 ⚡ |

(Copying Michaels nice setup ;) ) Hi, I´m Torbjörn and I am not a codaholic - you do not want me anywhere near a code, because of reasons. :) I am here as a "assistant" to those that knows how to code. Trying to help our community. More seriously, I´m also a IT generalist focusing on architecture and the business benefit of IT. But foremost working with Cybersecurity frameworks and helping mainly the public sector in Sweden to protect their data and systems (and be compliant with laws and reg´s). Ive been involved with HA for the last 4 years or so when I bought our new house. The IoT and home automation has gone out of hand with approximately 110 IP (90 wifi) devices around the house. And just by coincidence I happened to move to Hammarö outside of Karlstad, Sweden and settle down literally 1000 meters from where @robinostlund lives. After being a life long SAAB-fanatic I had to retire my beloved SAAB 9-3x and via my company got a deal on a Passat GTE MY2018 and after that lease ran for 3 years I ended up with a Passat GTE MY2020. |

Hi, I am Karl, just as Tobjörn, I am not good in coding (not to say useless) but pretty good in asking for enhancements ;-) , and quite ok in Setting up automations etc. in HA ;-) I have seen that the request for setting the max charge has already been made, however, I would like to put ‚I want it too‘ on that. That would be great help. I want to use my own PV-energy as primary and if possible only source to charge. However, depending on the sun and the level of my battery pack, if the EGolf asks for the max power the Elli Wallbox can deliver that sometimes results in using grid power on top of power available from PV at that moment. BTW, before I forget, thanks a lot for this (already) very helpful integration |

Hi, it's not advisable in my opinion to go lower than 5 minutes of refresh rate, because the VW backend will kick you out for the entire day (both on the integration and the app). So, if it's OK for you, take a look at this issue that provides some hints with the location trigger. |

Keep in mind that location update is triggered by the vehicle only after the vehicle is parked. |
