Very likely someone needs to figure out how it works, maybe new (completely undocumented) APIs, authentication/authorization flow and everything else.. That unfortunately is a non-trivial task, unless VW would provide service specs (:rofl: yea right)

Hi @milkboy! The integration has stopped working for me as of this week. I removed and reinstalled it via HACS, tried re-authing carnet, and made sure there were no new T&C's to agree to, which i've had block me before. I guess this might mean that my account has been migrated to the new Volkswagen app and I need to wait for this HA integration to get updated?

Here the same: integration has stopped working some while ago.
I received a mail and pop-up in We Connect app about the deactivation of that app (and service) on November 8th. It looks like some of the (API) services are already stopped.
EDIT: I removed the integration from HACS and did a complete new download/config - now this integration is working again. Before I tried to connect again via Settings of intergrations, but that was not successfull.

The new Volkswagen app should get all the functionalities of the We Connect app according to Volkswagen connect servicedesk. So far that is absolutely not the case. For me, Passat GTE 2016, the new app lacks basic functionality compared to We Connect. I don't know what this means for the integration with HA, but it doesn't look very good....

For me both apps and the HA integration work simultaneously. I hope they only change the frontend (app) and not the called services? Both of my e-UPs were already configured in the new app.

It uses MQTT so you can create your own sensors in Home Assistant based on what it sends in to MQTT.

Same here. Volkswagen (Android) app is unusable at least for me. It doesn't show anything and states "Synchronized: Unfortunately, the data is no longer up to date".

It's this homeassistant-volkswagencarnet app that's not working. This https://github.com/tillsteinbach/VWsFriend works fine, which would indicate an issue with the implementation of homeassistant-volkswagencarnet. Hopefully the author will resolve the issues.

So basically what you say is that the WeConnect API still seems to work but this integrations might use too many "calls" or actions?

That's how it seems to be for me.

The other integration that I've mentioned is still working with no issue. It takes more work to set it up, as it doesn't have a Home Assistant integration, but as it uses MQTT Home Assistant can get to that data and you can create your own sensors in yaml.

As a bonus it comes with a Grafana dashboard which is quite good.

I can semi-confirm your assumption. I deactivated the HA integration for 6 hours and activated it again and now it seems to work just fine. Let's see how long it takes until it's blocked again

@WillScott73 you were right. I removed the homeassistant-volkswagencarnet HACS integration and after couple of hours Volkswagen app started working again. Thank you for the hint!

My experience of that Synchronized error message is that it occurs when this home assistant integration has made too many calls to authenticate. Using VWSFriend I could see from the logs that VW temporarily set rate limiting.

That is my experiance too. But I dont have any other integrations, but still after about 20 hours I get 429 errors for about 4 hours and then it starts working again for another 20 hours or so.
My integration checks every 5 minutes, and when it gets 429 error it checks every 15 minutes
