Suikoden V stuck in widescreen hack mode

I downloaded the config for the above game. It set it to widescreen ratio, which I didn't realise it would do, and seems to have implemented a widescreen hack too since you can see various errors caused by it. For example, at the start of the game when you get off the boat, the camera shows a long, high shot of the city. In the background there's a mountain range which is just a 2D drawing and now I can see where the drawing stops on the left and right of the screen - kind of like a huge billboard in the background. I've deleted the config but it persists. I've checked videos on Youtube and it's not meant to look like that. Not to mention, all 3D elements are too thin when you put it into 4:3 even after deleting the config. I can't see a widescreen hack file in the cheats directory, though. Can you help me fix this, please? It even persists if I don't launch the game through Launchbox.
