What is the purpose of pools

i still dont understand what is the purpose of pools

i created a pool name Wheel with category Car
Then i created a post of a Wheels under Wheel pool

So what is the purpose of it?

can someone pls explain like im 5 years old

A pool is simply a collection of posts

Tags are used to describe a post while pools are used to group them. That's why you add tags to posts, but add posts to pools. Both are, in practice, mutually exclusive.

The way that I understand it is a pool is a collection of posts that are for example part of a CG set or a comic etc. All the posts in the pool are related in that they are part of that collection even though they all might not contain the same tags with some images being the only one in a pool with it.

Yep, same, and that's how they are mostly used in practice.
