Future date on soft delete #480
Comments
That's not currently how the gem works, no. |
I think I could add this behavior if you think it would be good. What do you think? |
This project is kind of in limbo. I've been assisting with a small amount of maintenance, but only because I work on things that depend on paranoia. I don't personally feel like I should accept/add new features to the project as I'm really just here to keep things functioning. That said, this seems like a good idea and am sure it would be useful to other people too. |
Hey folks, I'd be interested in this feature too. Do you think a pull request would be accepted or is the project still in limbo @jarednorman? Cheers! |
As far as I know the project is not accepting new features. I don't have commit bit, so it's not up to me, but it has been years since the last non-maintenance PR merged and the README is pretty blunt about it:

if enough people desire this. and someone submit a PR that includes tests, a config flag to disable it and everything working nicely. I can include in a future release. |
Can I set a future date to soft delete an object?
So the gem would check if
deleted_at != nil
andDateTime.today < deleted_at
