C++/Rust Interop Initiative Software Engineer Lead

The Rust Foundation has received a generous donation from Google to support an initiative exclusively focused on improving the interop experience between C++ and Rust. In order to make progress in trying to establish a secure and high performance software future, the primary goal of this interop initiative is to ultimately allow a seamless experience of having current C++ code interop with new Rust code. The Software Engineer Lead will be responsible for helping manage the interop initiative’s technical direction and implementation. The Software Engineer Lead will work with the Director of Technology, members of the Rust Project and other external stakeholders to form a working group, potentially within the Rust Project, consisting of interested stakeholders within the Project and in the broader ecosystem. The Software Engineer Lead will help solidify a strategy on the focus of the initiative. The Software Engineer Lead will implement that strategy, including writing any necessary code required.
