Is Visual Editing always enabled unless specifically disabled in the config?

From what I can tell if you enable visual editing, it just stays on.

Any instructions for deploying the Remix app to production and not having stega and overlays enabled in your production environment? I know I can disable stega and visual editing via the .ENV file but then it seems that when I go to the studio it can't properly re-enable visual editing on-demand.

Other templates appear to have an enable/disable endpoint baked into the app which will handle making visual editing work when specifically being viewed in the studio. There doesn't appear to be anything similar in this template.
